Pioneers in CBR

Dr. Einar Helander - FATHER OF COMMUNITY BASED REHABILITATION
Professionally medical doctor from Sweden, Appointed in WHO for disability work. He wrote the world famous book called "Training the community for person with disability"

Dr. David Werner is biologist by professional and working for poor peoples in Mexico since 1965. Werner closely work with the "PROJIMO" and "PIAXTLA" in western Mexico. 

He also presented many papers and published articles on politics of health

Dr.Malcolm Peat is professionally Physiotherapist working for CBR, He wrote the book called "Community Based Rehabilitation"

Marian Loveday is Professionally Physiotherapist worked in CBR projects in Africa for long time, He wrote the book called "HELP Guide for Community Based Rehabilitation worker: a training manual


Mr Khasnabis - a architect of modern CBR concept, graduated in Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering from the All India Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Mumbai, India. He was the key person for developing the CBR guidelines and CBR Matrix

Dr.Sunil Deepak - Professionally physician  from India working with Italian NGO Called AIFO for the Community Based Rehabilitation and Research in CBR. He also published various materials and books for implementation and evaluation of  CBR



Dr. Maya thomas,  Professionally Psychologist working as strategy planer and policy adviser in CBR for more then 2 decade.She also the chief editor of journal called "Asia pacific disability and rehabilitation journal"   Friday meeting translations, manual for CBR and many other books wrote by Maya Thomas.
